Barbara is an experienced mediator, facilitator, adjudicator, and trainer in dispute resolution. She mediates and facilitates workplace, organizational, municipal, energy, stakeholder engagement, and land management issues. She is a certified ombudsman and trained in workplace assessment and investigation.
Barbara is a former volunteer chair of the Banff Development Appeal Board and recently competed her term as a hearing commissioner with the Alberta Energy Regulator. She has previous experience as a board member with the Natural Resources Conservation Board and the Alberta Municipal Government Board. She was an original board member and mediator for the Federal Farm Debt Review Board, one of the first established mediation programs.
A chartered mediator and qualified arbitrator, Ms. McNeil has served as a roster mediator for Alberta Municipal Affairs, the ERCB, and the Calgary Police Service. She has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Certificate of Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute. She has taught conflict resolution at the University of Calgary and other clients for many years.
