Sectors of Practice
Kevin is a formally trained mediator and arbitrator with an extensive educational background in Appropriate Dispute Resolution. In addition to more than 20 years of practicing law in Calgary, Kevin has been involved in numerous arbitrations in the areas of labour and employment law, personal injury, insurance, real estate, wills and estates, and corporate law. He also has over 200 hours of ADR training. Kevin received his Q.Arb Designation in 2014 from the ADR Institute of Canada.
Appropriate Dispute Resolution is an unregulated field, and although anyone can label him or herself as an ADR practitioner, surprisingly few have taken formal ADR training. Kevin’s ADR training in negotiation, arbitration and mediation, combined with his diverse experience as a lawyer, allows him the creativity to apply different approaches to help parties achieve dispute resolution based on their needs and preferences, and what each situation calls for.
