Sectors of Practice
Kristy Walters is a practicing Social Worker and Mediator and has worked for Alberta Health Service for nearly a decade. She has created an alternative dispute resolution framework using interest-based mediation for AHS. This service provision is currently being used in their Supportive Living and Facility Living programs in the Greater Edmonton Area. Kristy has worked with high conflict individuals and situations for several years across the continuum of care. Her client-centered and collaborative practice enhances the team building her clients need to find satisfactory resolutions. As in innovative practice leader she was asked to present in Toronto as a faculty member of the Institute for Health Care Improvement (IHI) for the Triple Aim project. This international project looks to improve the health of populations, improve the experience of patients including quality and satisfaction of care, and reduce costs to health care systems.
